Inhotim
Description
Inhotim is Latin America´s most important outdoor contemporary art museum. Art centre in continuous transformation, where different artistic expressions coexist with impressive nature in complete harmony, Inhotim is located 60km away from Belo Horizonte. The complex holds large areas of gardens, planned by the Brazilian landscapist Roberto Burle-Marx, rare tropical species, and an artistic collection of international relevance, along with restaurants and other recreation areas. There are over 100 artists exhibited, from different nationalities, whose works are divided in temporary and permanent ones.

Main attractions
Exhibitions: Inhotim´s works of art are exhibited
outdoor, within the garden, immersed in the bush,
on the top of a mountain, or on a water mirror.
Collection: With the focus on the contemporary art
produced since the beginning of the 1960´s up to
the present days, the collection holds sculptures,
facilities, paintings, drawings, photographs, films
and videos.
Landscaping: The gardens received suggestions
and cooperation from the famous landscapist
Roberto Burle- Marx.
Botanical Garden: Thousand samples of plant
cultivation make Inhotim
an unique place, with
the largest collection of living plants among the
Brazilian botanical gardens.
Environmental resources: Inhotim´s visiting area
comprises gardens, galleries, buildings and
fragments of the Atlantic Forest, as well as five
ornamental lakes.
Observation
This tour may have the duration of half a day, according to the visitor´s interest. Our tours are guided by specialists.
