Description
The large variety of museums and cultural centres in Belo Horizonte, spread all over the city, reassures the identity and the values of the people from Minas Gerais and leads the visitor to a journey of discoveries through several moments of their history. In order to experience the early years of the construction of the society of Belo Horizonte, the visitor is invited to know the Abílio Barreto Museum, which holds in its collection elements of the creation of the city reflected all around it. Also, in the centre-south region, the Arts Palace integrates, within its boundaries, theatres and five art galleries, a wealth of art and culture available to everyone. And the Liberty Square Cultural Space gathers areas and collections related to historical, cultural, scientific and technical issues, which reflect the multiple realities of the state of Minas Gerais.

Main attractions
In this tour the choice of the attractions is related to the profile of the visitors and their interests at the moment of the visit. There is a large variety of museums, memorials, cultural and art centres. The themes are also diversified, such as natural history, puppet theatre, sugar cane brandy (cachaça) production, sacred and contemporary arts, mineralogy, mining, astronomy, among others.
